Three on Thursday Vol. 1

February 09, 2017

I'm taking a page from Steph's blogging almanac and participating in her Three on Thursday series. Blogging is for nothing if not sharing, right?

Here are the three things I'm currently loving and recommending.

I've been using Home Chef since... last October. I probably order a box once a month and I absolutely love it. For me, it just makes sense. I am one person and I live alone. I'm busy and I'm not always in the mood to meal prep or even make dinner for that matter. So for me I'm guaranteed dinner and lunch for the next day. And since three meals come in a box, I'm essentially good for the week. These meals are always quick {under 45 mins max} and delicious. There are several that I know I'll make again.

I'm not sure about you but I'm very intrigued by dystopian societies and all things "end of the world" {2012 anyone?} I was told about this show back in December and then forgot about it. After I bought the Fire TV I was browsing to see what was available and the first sentence of the description for episode 1 immediately caught my attention: "it's 1962, America has lost WWII; the east is the Greater Nazi Reich, and the west, the Japanese Pacific States". I burned through all of season 1 in about 3 days. I'm halfway through Season 2 but have slowed it down because Season 3 is a long ways off.

I have a friend who's a makeup junkie and she's always raving about finishing sprays and setting powders that she uses. I decided to give this one a try because for $6 I wasn't going to be upset if I didn't like it. Turns out she knows her shit and this stuff is awesome. I'm not a huge makeup person but I definitely notice a difference when I use this.

Do you use/watch/have/do any of these? What are YOU recommending this week?

  1. I'm waiting for Man/Castle from the library ---- FOR MY HUSBAND. he's picked up reading as well and when he asked me to put this on hold for him, I jumped for joy LOL

  2. That show sounds awesome!! Adding it to my ever growing list of shows to watch haha

  3. Man in the High Castle sounds exactly up my alley, I need to find that.
I should try Home Chef, something new at least!
I'm always glad when people do their own 3 on Thursday, it's always fun to see what everyone else recommends!

  4. I'm going to check out Home Chef. I did the Blue Apron thing for a few weeks last year, and I liked the meals I ended up with but it just wasn't for me. Hard to customize around the things I don't eat, way too much food (though I did appreciate having seconds for lunch the next day, there was still too much) and with my tiny old kitchen there were just too many steps that needed space at the same time and it was just chaotic and not working. But now with my MUCH BIGGER KITCHEN that's got like a whole yard of counter space, and with an extra mouth to feed, I do think I could use the help or even just creative inspiration from a meal box kit thing.

I have had a lot of e.l.f products over the years, and this is one of my favorites. I hardly ever wear makeup anymore but I keep this around, because it makes a big difference and I love brushing it on when I do.

  5. I've been curious about Man in the the High Castle. I need to check it out. I'm also going to check out that E.L.F. Perfect Finish HD Powder - I don't wear much make-up but this sounds like something I need. And like you, I won't be terribly upset if I don't like it when it is only $6.
