July Happenings

August 02, 2018

I can't believe that we're in August already. Did summer even happen? Personally, I made the absolute best I could with the past 31 days.

4th of July Party

The annual forth of July party is always a great time. I drank all day, lounged in the pool, took a million rides down the 150 foot slip-n-slide, and overall just had a great time. Here's a nice video of my brother attempting to take a nice running start.

Prime Day/Shopping Scores

I talked about my Prime Day pickups already but since there's been some time I wanted to share that I purchased a set of grooming gloves for the cats and they're the greatest. It's a complete two-for-one. They get the joy of being pet; I get the joy of brushing and eliminating some of the constant shedding. Sitchy in particular hates being brushed so this is a nice compromise for him. Oreo is the pet/brush king so he's super happy.

DMB

This years concert was bittersweet. Staple member and violinist Boyd Tinsley was absent. He took a break from touring with the band this season for personal reasons and as a favorite of mine, he was missed. They did a lot of their newer songs, which I haven't quite fallen in love with yet. The highlight of the night was when they played their cover of All Along the Watchtower. Their version is damn good and I've never heard it live so that was a treat. I also picked up this years poster because pretty.

Escape the Room

I did my first escape the room one weekend and it was a lot of fun. There were 9 or 10 of us in the room and we easily worked together to figure it all out and get out in 43 minutes. I really enjoyed it and look forward to doing another one.

Fun with Little Miss

Oh this kid. She makes my heart so full I could burst into tears with joy. She stayed with me a few days while my mom was in Guatemala for her mission's trip and we got ourselves into some fun. Wednesday we took or first train rides and went to my office so she could meet some people and for free lunch {yay!}, Thursday we went to the trampoline park, and Friday we had clams for lunch and then went to visit my BFF and Little Dude.

Out and About

We were originally planning to go to Ithaca when I dropped of Little Miss but the weather wasn't supposed to be too great. Instead we stayed local and checked out some new spots. On the way back from taking Little Miss home we stopped for lunch at The Alpine Wurst & Meat House and left overstuffed. We went to Grimm and Interboro breweries. On the way back we stopped at Fishs Eddy. This store is eclectic dish ware and it's absolutely amazing.

More or less, a good month was had by all!

  1. I've never been on a slip n slide, but I love the videos (that one of your bro doesn't work though, fyi). I can't get over how big Little Miss has gotten in such a short time. I bought those gloves for Keebler because he keeps getting mats and I'm pretty sure he likes it more than the brush. Also, I used to work across the street from Fish's Eddy. Love their stuff!
