Show Us Your Books - December

December 11, 2018

Friends, the end is here! With this post, we're wrapping up the books of 2018. Yes, I know we'll talk about December in January, but this is it. The last SUYB of 2018!

Life According to Steph

VoxVox {library}
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Imagine living in an America where your freedom of speech is limited. Imagine being a woman and being limited to 100 words a day. But then it gets so much worse.

"Set in an America where half the population has been silenced, VOX is the harrowing, unforgettable story of what one woman will do to protect herself and her daughter."

I really enjoyed this book and the entire concept. Parts hit close to home and others seemed like a true dystopian society.

Evidence of the AffairEvidence of the Affair {kindle}
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok, I absolutely LOVED this! I read through it in about 2 hours at work. It's written in letter format so it reads quickly.

It opens with a letter from Carrie to David revealing that she's found evidence that their spouses are having an affair. The book chronicles their back and forth and eventual friendship. It was like reading through someone's diary, and of course, the busy-body in me loved that. I found myself rooting for Carrie and David to form a relationship.

Great quick read. Looking forward to reading more from Reid.

Tangled in Tinsel (Celebration #1)Tangled in Tinsel {kindle}
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was wildly predictable right from the beginning, but that's what I love about these free Amazon reads. They're like a warm blanket to snuggle up with. Quick, easy, mindless reading to pass the time.

I think this is my first by Stacy Eaton but I'll keep my eyes out for more.

School's First Day of SchoolSchool's First Day of School {freebie}
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a cute little free Scholastic book my niece had brought home from school. I insisted I needed to read it since it was a legit book and would count. My mom disagreed. But it scanned and here we are.

It's a super short book about the first day of school.... told from the school's POV. It's cute and parts made me chuckle. A nice beginner book for a new reader.

Currently reading: Becoming by Michelle Obama
