What's New With You - February

March 07, 2019

Usually February seems to drag by at a glacial pace. Not this year! I can't believe we're already into March. It looks like 2019 is going to speed by.

I had a pretty great month if I do say so.

To kick off the month J and I went to a beer expo at the Meadowlands. I tried a few things I really enjoyed and them some IPAs that were just not for me.

Around the beginning of the month I had a slight problem with Lucky Charms. By problem I mean I ate them every day for 2 weeks straight. I regret nothing. They're every bit as magically delicious as they were when I was a kid.

Throughout the month there were lots of new beers, from my couch all the way to Long Island City. J and I checked out a new brewery by us, Hackensack Brewing Company, and were pleasantly surprised. We went in thinking that maybe 1 or 2 would be good. Out of the 6 we had, 5 were pretty damn tasty.

J and I aren't big Valentine's day people, not to mention, he has to work. We stayed home, I made salmon for dinner, and he brought me a bouquet of flowers and an array of my favorite kind of chocolates.

We went to dinner that weekend and had the amazingness that is burrata. Holy hell. It's just.... you gotta try it. When I tell you this plate was destroyed in less than 5 minutes, I'm not exaggerating. It was that good.

I bought some plant friends for my desk at work because I love plants and I love plants. Also, I sit in front of the men's room. I don't want to have to see everyone all day so I plan to go back and spend $20 on a "big" plant to block my view. Annd if I end up turning my corner into a jungle, well, more oxygen for me!

I did some reading last month, though not nearly as much as I would have liked. I'll elaborate on them more in a few days but I absolutely loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and  My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry was a great read.

And that's what was up with me! What's new with you?
